Welcome to the westmidlandsrock homepage
This website aims to keep climbers informed of recent developments at all of the crags in Shropshire and Worcestershire. The second edition of West Midlands Rock (published in 1995) is out of print. Updates for the crags can now be found in the left hand column. These updates include details of new routes added since 1995 along with other important information, for example, any changes in the access arrangements. There are also three picture galleries on this site to supplement this information.
With the co-operation of Cicerone Press, all of the crags from West Midlands Rock (1995) are now available as individual pdf downloads. Over the past twelve months there has been a substantial number of requests for this information from climbers who were unable to locate even second hand copies of the 1995 guide. It has been necessary to introduce small charges for most of these downloads to help to offset the cost of providing this website. More information concerning the 1995 pdf downloads can be found by following the links in the right hand column.
Please note that if you are looking for a copy of the 1995 guide I am sorry but I cannot help you. To my knowledge there is no new definitive guide in preparation. However, there is now selected coverage of Llanymynech Quarry in the Clwyd Rockfax, a Shropshire Sandstone bouldering guide and more recently (in 2006) a new guide to Nesscliffe by Nick Dixon.
